Child Safety Standards
Famously has no tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out what is prohibited, how anyone can report a concern to us, and what we do when we receive one.
Last updated 7 September 2026. These standards apply to every part of the Famously platform.
How to report a concern
In the app, on the content itself
Every post, story, FAMO drop and direct message carries a Report control. Choose “Child Safety Concern” — it is the first option in the list. Reporting from the content itself attaches the account and the item to your report, which is what lets us act on it immediately.
By email
Write to info@famously.app. Include a link or username if you have one. This address reaches a person who is able to speak to our CSAE prevention practices, not a general support queue.
To the authorities, directly
You never need our permission to contact law enforcement, and you should not wait for us if a child is in immediate danger. Contact your local emergency services first.
Our standards
Prohibited without exception
Child sexual abuse material, the sexualisation of a minor, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and any attempt to solicit or arrange contact with a minor for sexual purposes are prohibited on Famously. This applies to posts, stories, FAMO drops, profile content, video calls and private messages equally — a direct message is not a private exemption.
Age requirements
You must be at least 13 to hold a Famously account, and we collect date of birth at sign-up. Anyone aged 13 to 17 may use the platform only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Professional accounts, paid calls, earnings and withdrawals are restricted to adults aged 18 or over — no minor can appear as a professional or receive payment through the platform. Accounts we identify as belonging to a child under 13, or to a minor using the platform without a guardian's consent, are removed.
Reports are prioritised, not queued
A child safety report is recorded under its own category rather than folded into general moderation, so it is separated from spam and routine complaints at the point of submission and reviewed ahead of them.
What happens to a confirmed violation
We remove the content, terminate the account and any linked accounts, and preserve the material and associated account records as required for referral to the relevant authority. Termination is permanent; we do not restore accounts removed for CSAE.
Reporting to authorities
Apparent child sexual abuse material is referred to the appropriate national authority in the jurisdiction concerned, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable, and to Kuwaiti authorities as our home jurisdiction. We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
Prevention, not only response
Blocking and account privacy controls are available to every user, message requests from people you do not follow are held separately rather than delivered into your inbox, and reported accounts can be blocked in the same action as the report.
